Callum Takes on a New Challenge

In these uncertain times, many have found it hard to stay positive and enthusiastic. At the start of the lockdown Callum was faced with a similar challenge but working with the team at Acute Need, Callum has been able to progress his hobby of fishing and helped in developing a structure for others to use to help them get into fishing as a hobby. Callum and his team have developed a checklist and manual to follow, covering areas including general equipment check, tackle box check as well as a setting up routine. Acute Need view this person-centred approach to be at the core of care planning activities, creating a safe infrastructure for individuals to live as they want to, seeing them as a unique individual with skills, strengths and personal goals. Acute Need believes that real choice provides real opportunity no matter how difficult the circumstances. Callum has made us all proud by showing great resilience amidst uncertain times but also thinking of ways to help others benefit from the opportunities he has. Acute Need believes that having a team that can work flexibly, meet fluctuating requirements is important for an individual to deal with real life situations, change and transition. This is done by open communication channels working with individuals to discover what they want from life and how to manage risks by thinking creatively about options for safe solutions that enable people to do things that matters to them. These hobbies and interests help an individual get involved with their community feeling included and valued for their contribution.
